Hot Damn and Hallejulah! It's the 4th of July, let the fireworks begin!!

Our bull gets to go to the pasture on the 4th of July because we don't want calves until April, unless we have heifers but that is another story. It takes 9 months to get a calf, if all goes well, all our cows have had their babies before they are turned out to pasture around the 1st of June.

This year we had a late comer, the last cow in the pen with the bull had her baby around the 6th of June so we just left them together until we turned the bull down to keep him company. They were quite the little family, the little baby bull really liked his daddy and spent a lot of time with him, the big bull was very indulgent of the little guy.

The 4th of July was here and time to go, Yee Haw!

"Oh Girls!!"

I realized the baby was not coming with the bull and cow so cut her off with the 4 wheeler and made her go back up the alley to find her baby. She met Bruce herding her baby and together they tore back down the alley and into the pasture.

First the bull has to go rub on the creekbank, all the while calling his girls.

Rub, Rub,...

Rub, rub, rub....

"Oh man, this feels sooooo good!"

Meanwhile, on the hill, the herd takes notice....

The bull stops at another spot and rubs his forehead....

the side.....

the chin, yes the chin!

The other side....

Under the neck, "Yes, YES!!"

Meanwhile, back at the herd....

"OOMMAAGGHHH"

"OOMMMAAAGGGHHH!"

Meanwhile, back at the herd....

Only the creek separates Romeo from all his ladies.....

he will forge rivers.....

taking a drink along the way...

he's safely reached the other side....

he will climb mountains.

"OOMMMAAAGGGHHH!!!"

He did it, now to check out the ladies to see if any are ready for some romance, perhaps?

"Hello, baby!"

"Wait, don't go!

Since this is a family forum, I will leave the rest to your imagination but I can tell you we have a very happy bull tonight. Happy 4th of July!
