It's Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime - on the farm.

We have been anxiously awaiting these days of sunshine after all the rain and stormy weather the last 2 months. I woke up early yesterday and was greeted by this sight as I took my coffee to the gazebo.

The kids and I didn't waste much time after breakfast, saddling the horses for a morning ride across the pasture checking on the cows and calves.

We came upon Bruce mowing brome to feed the horses over the winter, we have never seen it so tall. Too bad the French family won't be here a few more days, we'd really put them to work.

We were enjoying ourselves, so much to their disgust, we rode the horses on over to the pond to check on things and found a big hole in the one driveway that needs to be repaired before we try to cross it again. I found the vibration reduction feature on my camera works great, I was turned in my saddle, shooting this one handed.

It was a busy day, Bruce got all the brome mowed, Ian and Annie went with Mollie, Sadie and me to their annual vet checkup. Mollie especially loves Steve, the vet, Sadie just wanted out of there. "Please, please can I have another treat??"

When we got home we found Bruce and Stephen putting in another barn window, only 3 left. What a difference it is making. Before,

Bruce's sister, Janet, invited them all up to her house for supper because I had a garden club meeting. We had a great crowd that showed up and saw lots of beautiful flowers in some members yards.

I beat the others home by just a few minutes with a surprise, a tiny baby bunny that was in one member's yard and it was obvious he would not make it without some help. This morning I'm happy to report he is doing well, loving his formula. 1 cup whole milk, 1 egg yolk, and a tablespoon of molasses, it is amazing what you can find on the internet! Stay tuned as pictures will follow.
